Kurdish artist and writer, Sarwar, is lucky to be alive after his outspoken work resulted in a number of attempts to silence him. His journey to Ireland was equally perilous, but he has found friendship and support among the creative community in Dundalk.
Sarwar joined Declan Cassidy in the Drogheda-based EurAV studio, recently, to talk about his journey and what it means to be in Ireland. The interview is one of a series of podcasts in the PodTV series, in collaboration with Louth County Council LAIT. The last episode heard from Cllr Ejiro O’Hare Stratton who first came to Ireland many years ago as a member of a religious order, and the next episode will see Seun Grace Atiroko who ran for election in Dundalk South in 2024 under the banner: “United we stand together we can.”
