EurAV puts down Drogheda roots

EurAV is moving into new premises in Drogheda town centre. The organisation, which was established just as the COVID pandemic locked society down, had been operating from temporary premises, but has now secured a new home on Fair Street – an historic Georgian row at the top of the town.

“We have exciting plans for the place,” revealed Executive Director Declan Cassidy. “As well as having our offices, we will be equipping a small but state-of-the-art audio visual studio which we can use for television and photography production as well as audio recording such as podcasts. We had the choice of locating somewhere more remote with less sound pollution and a bigger space, but our work focusses on people and inclusion so we decided that accessibility was our number one priority.”

EurAV is currently involved in five international projects that all focus on one or more of the organisation’s ‘pillar’ areas of concern – social inclusion, climate action and media literacy.

“Our new premises allows us to host our international partners, produce audio visual content and conduct training, which is an essential part of what we do,” explained Declan. “Having a footprint in Ireland’s largest town will help us to engage with our target groups a lot more effectively. We’re excited.”
