There are a small number of places left on a free course that supports young immigrant entrepreneurs in developing their business ideas. The EU-funded programme, New Horizons, will see mentors in Ireland, Germany and Italy work closely with budding entrepreneurs under 30, who have been in one of the three countries for less than five years.
“We’re aware that people are trying to juggle day to day life with trying to develop their idea,” explained Declan Cassidy, executive director of EurAV – the Drogheda based Irish partner in the project, “so the first step will be to have a meeting with those interested to explain what the project involves and to shape it around their needs and realities. One of the difficulties of being a newcomer in a country is that you often don’t have the extended network that you’d have in your native land. This project is about mentoring in a practical way, but also helping to tap into business support networks.”
The project, which gets underway this month, is funded by the EU’s Erasmus + programme so it is free to participants..
“Contact us at contact@eurav.eu to have a chat about or not it’s for you,” said Declan, “but there are only a couple of places left, so hurry!”
