A new group for all sorts of content creators is set to support both legacy and new media creatives with hybrid ‘in-person’ and online meetings in Drogheda.
Content creation is a wide landscape in these multimedia days. From traditional media, such as film, radio and the written word to podcasts, social media and digital art, there has never been so many people involved in making media. And, yet, while technological advances have made this access possible on an individual level, it has also resulted in many creators working in isolation.
A recent EurAV training course in digital media production, funded by Coimisiún na Meán, saw 20 people achieve their certificates and form a bond that they were keen shouldn’t be lost.
“The training had a very strong peer-to-peer element,” explained trainer Declan Cassidy. “The course structure took account of the knowledge that was in the room, so people also learned from each other. That was what made me feel that a group where content creators could share information and support one and other would be very valuable.”
The Content Creator meetings will be held in Drogheda on a monthly basis, but live streaming will allow those who can’t physically attend to take part. An ‘expressions of interest’ form has been created here for anyone who is interested in being involved.
