Fusion Kitchen is a food and culture TV series that premiere’s all this week – and repeats next week – online and on Virgin Media Channel 802 – DCTV. While it features a range of cooking enthusiasts and chefs from various countries, cooking and chatting alongside TV chef Tara Walker, behind the scenes EurAV has been able to give some real world production experience as members of the crew.
Episode 1 screened last evening, with Mykola and Viktoria from Lucy – Ireland’s first Ukrainian eatery in Dublin – bringing home recipe delights to Tara’s table, but filming the show was a team that included Katie Power in charge of sound and Vlodymyr Plantieviev on second camera.
“It’s one of the many great benefits of social television,” said Director Declan Cassidy. “We’re able to make programmes that are about the people involved in front of and behind the camera rather than focusing on the commercial side of the screen industry. This project was funded by Coimisíun na Meán with additional support from the SICAP team at Louth Local Development. It means that, when we’re developing programme ideas, we can concentrate on social impact and hear from voices that are outside the mainstream.”
Fusion Kitchen is on each evening at 8pm from April 13-18 and each day at 2pm from April 20-25. If you have Virgin Media, you’ll catch it on channel 802, DCTV. Otherwise, you can see it streaming live on dctv.ie/live
