Make a film – or learn how to – this summer

Apr 29, 2026

Here at EurAV, we have two projects coming up over the summer months that we’re very excited about. One involves three Masterclass training in Editing, in Media Production and in Presenting and Interviewing. They’ll each run over a weekend and have been made possible by funding from Coimisíun na Meán under their Media Skills Development funding so that they can be provided free of charge to participants.

The second project is a local creative project called ‘Drogheda Through Our Eyes’. Mentored by multi-award-winning film maker Declan Cassidy, 10 budding film or documentary makers will learn how to use professional equipment and then each make a short film that tells a story of Drogheda from their perspectives. They’ll work through the entire process, from developing their concepts, working out the practicalities, practising with the camera, light and sound equipment, shooting their footage and then editing it. The films will then be presented to the public as a feature length film.
This project is funded by the Department of Culture, Communications, and Sport through the Creative Ireland Programme and is facilitated by Louth County Council. That means that the opportunity is available free to the 10 participants chosen.
